Our April meeting, the final meeting for the Ridgerunners year, is our celebration of the Woman of the Year. Each year, a nominations committee receives nominations from Ridgerunners members for the honor which recognizes a woman in the community who has given to the community and been an inspirational leader of many clubs and/or projects over a period of time.
Each year, the selected honoree’s identity is kept a closely-guarded secret until the announcement at the April meeting.
Last year’s winner was Margo Vallone, a former co-President of Ridgerunners, a graduate of Leadership Big Canoe, a former member of the Big Canoe HOA (before its merger with the POA), a member of the POA Events Committee, and one of the founders of the Big Canoe Travel Club. The many people who nominated Margo did so not only for her long list of services to the community, but also for her kindness and gracious spirit.
